United Communities strategic partnership begins
On 1 April 2013 United Housing Association (UHA) and Bristol Community Housing Foundation (BCHF) began their strategic partnership.
As a Board Member of UHA I was invited to apply for Board membership of BCHF and was successful. Both Boards now meet co-terminously and as a Board Member of both associations I and 8 other Board Members make decisions on behalf of both associations whilst 2 Board Members represent only UHA and the remaining 2 Board Members represent only BCHF giving each association an effective Board of 10.
I was subsequently appointed Chair of Risk & Audit Committee for both associations.
The staff have been combined into one structure with one Chief Executive, one Director of Finance, one Director of Customer Service and one director of Business Development.
We have now rebranded the partnership - United Communities.
